Who is Broncos QB? COVID-19 exposure renders all active passers-by in Denver ineligible (report)

Jeff Driskel’s positive COVID-19 test has sidelined the entire Broncos quarterback room.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Drew Lock, Brett Rypien and Blake Bortles have all been considered close contacts and are not eligible to play against the Saints on Sunday afternoon. Neither quarterback was wearing a mask when they came into contact with Driskel.

At 6:45 p.m. Saturday night, the game was still going as planned. Schefter also reported the Broncos wouldn’t lose, so they’re going to have to get creative, but don’t expect John Elway, 60, to step down from the GM’s booth.

The 9 Denver Reports quality control coach Rob Calabrese led the offense on Saturday afternoon after the quarterbacks were taken off the training ground. The league has decided that he cannot be signed however, by Mike Klis, so we won’t see magic like the Toronto Maple Leafs get beaten by their own Zamboni driver back in February.

The Broncos could look to running back Royce Freeman or practice team wide receiver Kendall Hinton, who played a quarterback at Wake Forest from 2015 to 2019. Wide receiver Jerry Jeudy also offered his services on Twitter. Either way, looks like it’ll be someone that’s already on their roster.
