Fans of Nando’s at Livingston’s The Center in West Lothian will soon have a new piri piri restaurant to have a bite to eat, as Pepe’s arrives in the county by 2022.

Pepe’s Piri Piri is the UK’s leading spicy chicken franchise, according to the Daily check-in, and will soon open to Bathgate fast food fans.

Restaurant bosses have confirmed that the store will open in George Place in the city in a few weeks after construction is complete.

In a report from the Annual Industry of Eating Out, Pepe’s was fifth in the UK’s Top 10 Fast Food Brands, hosted by many fast food giants.

The only four ahead of the burgeoning chicken franchise are global favorites McDonalds, KFC and Burger King, with UK and international brand Pret a Manger also beating Pepe’s in first place.

A spokesperson said: “Almost overnight, Pepe’s Piri Piri chicken became the talk of the town.

“Our customers love the taste of our surprisingly fresh and flavorful grilled made-to-order chicken that has brought them back time and time again.

“They told their friends, who told others, and soon there were queues at the door. Families loved it. The kids loved it. Foodies loved it. Even the vegetarians loved it. Yes, there is a vegetarian menu!

Pepe’s is also based in Edinburgh and has grown into one of the UK’s busiest fast food outlets since it was founded in 2004.

The brand was first launched in London in 2004, and has since expanded to nearly 50 stores across the UK, and has also opened stores in the US and Northern Ireland.
