Sonic and Qdoba franchisees open 13 Fajita Pete’s

Fajita Pete’s, a fajita delivery concept, is adding 13 locations in Texas, thanks to agreements with Keith Fontana and Michael Humphrey, franchisees of Sonic and Qdoba, and Vishal Gajjar and Abhishek Doctor, who operate a Marco’s Pizza.

“Fajita Pete appealed to me because he was born in Texas and offers a real vehicle for growth,” Fontana said in a company press release.

“For a lot of other concepts, the markets are saturated,” Humphrey said. “People have seen it all and tried it all. But fresh fajitas and margaritas brought to your door? There are plenty of people who have never seen anything quite like Fajita Pete. There is almost limitless potential for growth .”

Fontana said the pair considered countless opportunities over several years before selecting Fajita Pete’s.

“We have years of experience with established national brands,” said Humphrey, who started as a Sonic carhop and worked his way up to the franchise for more than two decades. “This is a rare opportunity to be a part of something that is about to explode nationwide.”

Gajjar said the quality of the food appealed to his business.

“People are used to only being able to eat fajitas in a seated setting where you can wait 45 minutes to sit down and another 45 minutes to eat,” he said. “But at Fajita Pete, you get the exact same quality of fajitas, plus the convenience.”

“You can’t find food like this, in such a convenient model, at such a close price,” Fontana agreed.

“Most restaurants today are trying to accommodate delivery,” Humphrey said. “Fajita Pete’s is built for delivery. We’re ready to swing out.”

Fajita Pete’s has more than 100 units open or under development in Texas, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas and Arizona.
