Somerset’s first Tim Hortons restaurant opened to the public today – with the first lucky customer to walk through the doors and the drive-thru receiving a year’s supply of free coffee.
At the same time, starting at 7 a.m., the first 100 customers to grace the restaurant received a free breakfast.
The Canadian fast food chain has taken the place of the former Pizza Hut store following its fall 2020 closure at Weston Links.

The brand new restaurant will be open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to midnight, with a menu featuring best sellers including Timbits, Iced Capps, Freshly Baked Donuts and Tims Crispy Chicken Sandwich.
An early morning breakfast special starts at just £2.49, running until 11am daily.
With freshly baked handmade donuts that are baked hourly, the chain is like the hybrid child of Krispy Kreme and Mcdonalds.

Outside of Gloucestershire it’s the only Tim Horton’s in the South West – although there are hopes of opening one in Plymouth later this year.
Kevin Hydes, Tim Hortons UK Franchise Commercial Director, said: “The South West is new territory for us at Tim Hortons, so we are really looking forward to bringing the best of the brand to even more people across the West Country.
“The Weston-super-Mare drive-thru is in a fantastic commutable location and we expect a lot of interest from surrounding areas such as Bristol and Bath.”
