Richard Madeley had to quit ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get me out of here! after being rushed to hospital after falling ill as a result of a challenge, but leaving camp he was not allowed to return due to strict Covid protocols
Richard Madeley moved into a McDonalds after reuniting with his family after his shock release from ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get me out of here!
The TV presenter, 65, was forced to leave the show after being taken to hospital as a precaution, following an illness while at Grywych Castle.
He was taken care of by the on-site medical team in the early hours of Thursday morning, who called an ambulance and was admitted to hospital for check-up.
However, Richard was unable to return to the castle after breaking the strict Covid protocols that are in place to prevent a virus outbreak on the show’s set.
“By leaving the camp I had therefore broken the Covid ‘bubble’ and as such had to leave the castle and all the wonderful celebrities who remain in the camp,” he said in a statement. .

He quickly reunited with his family, including his wife Judy Finnigan and daughter Chloe Madeley, who took to his Instagram stories to share an update with Richard fans.
“He’s home,” she captioned a black-and-white snap of a hamburger and fries from the fast food chain, along with a kissing emoji from the chef.
Chloe tagged her dad in the post, as well as her brother Jack Madeley, suggesting they indulged in a little treat at their family reunion.
Earlier, the 34-year-old fitness expert revealed that the Good Morning Britain host was “livid” after being forced to quit the show against his will.

“Thank you for all of your lovely messages. Dad is doing very well. We’ve been talking to him all day and finally he’s just pissed off that he can’t return to camp due to the Covid restrictions, ”Chloe wrote.
“He did make himself proud, however. He worked hard and was her calm, collected, kind and funny self. We are so proud, ”she added.
Richard’s son Jack also shared a similar statement on social media, saying the TV presenter was “doing so well” before his unlucky outing.
“He’s doing quite well and is back to his usual irrepressible mirth,” Jack wrote.
“Visible to him – he was doing so well and loved it.” We’re so proud and watching it every night this week has been one of the funniest things I can remember, ”he continued.
“And good luck to all the other celebrities and their families staring nervously around the house.” Wel jel – seriously, ”added Jack.
