Popular retailer opens new location in Amherst

January-March isn’t exactly the most popular time of year to go out. Spring and summer are usually the times when many people start going out more often, either to eat or to shop.

Malls are always popular here in Western New York. There are plenty of choices, like Quaker Crossing in Orchard Park and Southgate Plaza in West Seneca.

Perhaps the most popular plaza in the northern towns is The Boulevard in Amherst, located adjacent to Niagara Falls Boulevard.

The plaza is home to retailers like Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, Famous Footwear, and Old Navy, among others.

A popular retailer will open a new location on The Boulevard Square in April.

According to Buffalo Business FirstMarshalls will open a new location inside The Boulevard on April 14.

Marshalls is a discount chain, which already has several locations in Western New York, and this new location in Amherst will take up most of the former Babies ‘R Us location near Target.

Bath & Body Works will be in the same building next door, as it also recently opened there.

Marshalls is similar to stores like TJ Maxx, which are under the same company umbrella, so that makes sense, especially for a mall as big and popular as The Boulevard; which changed its name to Boulevard Consumer Square.
