Samuel Green, 25, of North Street, Peterborough, was released from prison on December 31 (2021) after serving an eight-week sentence for shoplifting in Camnbridge. He also received a two-year Criminal Behavior Order (CBO).
On January 4, Green breached his CBO by visiting McDonalds in Rose Crescent, Cambridge.
He went on to breach it again twice on January 8.
Green was arrested by officers later that day after stealing a bottle of gin from Sainsbury’s in Sidney Street, also in Cambridge.
At Peterborough Magistrates’ Court (January 10), Green was sentenced to 16 weeks in jail after pleading guilty to one count of theft and three misdemeanor counts at his CBO.
Its CBO remains in place so as not to:
Be on or within the limits of Queens Road, Chesterton Road, Gonville Place and Fen Causeway, Cambridge.
Enter any Marks and Spencer, John Lewis or McDonalds within the confines of the M11, A14 and A11.
Acting in an antisocial or disorderly manner which causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to one or more persons within the limits of M11, A14 and A11.
PC Jacob Townsend, who investigated, said: ‘Green is a prolific thief with a number of prior convictions against his name. We hope that this extended prison sentence will give him time to consider changing his life.
