New Taco Bell menu item combines two fast food favorites

Taco Bell follows no rules. It’s ostensibly a Mexican chain, but easily offered menu items that don’t fit that tradition.

It was society that decided that a Dorito (DYNAMISM) – Get the report from PepsiCo, Inc. makes a great taco. Yum brands (YUM) – Get yum! Report Brands, Inc. The chain has been as willing to build its brand around its Mountain Dew variations as it has been with its many variations of tacos, quesadillas, burritos and other Mexican favorites.

Taco Bell used the marketing phrase “think outside the bun”. This line clearly indicated that the company was offering something that McDonald’s (MCD) – Get McDonald’s Corporation reportWendy’s (MAGNIFYING GLASS) – Get Wendy’s Business Reportand Restaurant Brands International (RSQ) – Get Restaurant Brands International Inc report Not Burger King. But those differences really stop at the proverbial bun.

No menu items of buns or, dare we say, burgers appear on the Taco Bell menu. However, the chain has its version of another fast-food classic: fries.

Are fries part of the Taco Bell menu? No, not in the classic menu sense, but a chain that used fried chicken as a bun doesn’t seem entirely bound by one interpretation of what its menu should be.

Now, Taco Bell is offering a new twist on its Nacho Fries that isn’t traditional but should delight its fans.

Taco Bell has a new take on Nacho fries

Taco Bell likes to take the same ingredients and find new ways to combine them. He does this on his entire menu, mixing and matching meats and toppings.

This makes sense in an age where simplifying menus is important. With more people ordering for delivery and picking up drive-thru, Taco Bell has designed its menu to serve people as quickly as possible. Its new variation Nacho Fries fits this pattern (and Mexican Pizza did not).

The new limited time offer, Steak White Hot Ranch Fries. fits this model perfectly. It combines the existing Nacho fries mostly with toppings that are already on the Taco Bell menu.

“The topped fries offering includes seasoned fries topped with hot nacho cheese sauce, marinated grilled steak, diced tomatoes, tri-cheese blend, light sour cream and new White Hot Ranch sauce ( made with buttermilk and ghost peppers), Marque Manger reported.

You can order the fries alone or wrapped in a burrito. Taco Bell also offers a vegetarian version, which replaces the beans with steak.

Taco Bell keeps changing its menu

While McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Burger King added and subtracted limited time offers, Taco Bell was the LTO king. The channel likes to try new ideas and is perfectly willing to push the boundaries.

He did this regularly even after reducing his menu due to the pandemic.

“We’re freeing up space on our menu to create a more efficient Taco Bell experience,” the chain said at the time.

But the company also clarified that a simpler menu doesn’t mean it won’t try new things.

“While some old favorites may retire, the continued creativity of our food innovation team is uninterrupted,” Taco Bell said.

And “while change is tough, a simplified menu and innovation process will leave room for new fan favorites, continued progress in categories like plant-based diets, and even opportunities for the return of certain classics for a limited time”.

Nacho Fries was one such innovation, as the chain has offered them in different ways over the past few years – and it’s logical to expect more new additions.
