About fifteen employees and managers of the three Hartlepool restaurants spent a morning removing trash from the golden sand with their tongs and bags.
They volunteered to do the garbage pickup, as McDonald’s garbage left by customers is among the most common garbage.
Regional Director Ryan Norman said: “Everything went well. I think they were surprised that there were no bags and bags of things, but they still collected a lot.
“We did one a while back behind the Burn Road restaurant before Covid and it’s something we’ll do again.
“It’s important for the local community and it’s about educating customers. We clean up after ourselves, but sometimes customers dispose of it incorrectly, so it’s important to keep the area clean. “
Staff attended McDonald’s on the Marina, Burn Road and Middleton Grange outlets, which are part of the Jasper Maudsley franchise.
