5. Wingfield Way, Beverly

Rated a modest 2 out of 5 from 42 reviews, McDonald’s in Beverley is considered one of the worst. One reviewer even described it as “the worst McDonald’s I’ve ever had”.

One review read: “Of all the McDonalds I’ve used this has to be the most disorganized useless place ever. Terrible drive thru, never everything on offer on the menu and the management is so fleeting. No one lasts there.”

Another review said: “Everything was cold and dry and not the first time we’ve had a bad meal, we thought we’d give it another try thinking maybe it was just a bad day but no the 2nd visit was as bad as the first!”

4. Cottingham Road, Hull

Rated a miserable 2.5 out of 5 after 45 reviews, the McDonald’s on Cottingham Road is one of the least popular in town.

One reviewer said: “Whenever the food is cold you have to wait in line for several hours for your order, or they just forget something and it’s so busy you better just suck it up and wait some more 30 minutes to get it.

“It’s getting worse and worse, they’ve started to stop refilling drinks with soft drinks and coffee. It’s inexcusable, but the only way to get what you want is just to go somewhere else and get better service.”

Another reviewer said: “Time and again we order here and it’s always wrong! Either items are missing or Luke is hot! Tonight 5 items were missing and the coke was flat! How can you deceive like this?”

3. Jameson Street, Hull

Rated 2.5 out of 5 from 77 reviews, McDonald’s in downtown Hull doesn’t have the best reputation.

One reviewer said: “The order screens have a habit of freezing when you try to place your order. This means if you scan a voucher it freezes, you have to cancel the order and your voucher is not valid because it thinks it has been used.

“A lot of these types of problems involved a long line at the till, but the poor girl at the till couldn’t cope. The lack of staff to deal with the crowds at dinner time means that it’s is slow and crowded.”

Another reviewer said: “We came here because McD is my son’s comfort place. At the entrance we were told there was no waiter service and we had to collect our food – this is not a problem.

“We heard someone else being told there were no cold drinks, why weren’t we told? We ordered 2 burgers and 4 large fries and went down to Sainsburys for cold drinks.

“It took forever for the food to be ready and when it arrived it was almost cold. We didn’t have time to wonder about making it again as we had a long journey ahead. A very disappointing visit .”

2. Grange Park Lane, Willerby

Despite being the second-best McDonald’s in town with a 3 out of 5 rating from 47 reviews, customers still report bad experiences at Willerby’s restaurant.

One reviewer said: “I ordered 20 chicken nuggets, fries and a large coke, the food was ok, I guess the drink on the other hand tasted like chemicals and bleach and numb my tongue and cheeks and it wasn’t just once because my brother tastes even worse + hair in the drink, won’t be coming here again.”

Another reviewer said: “We love a MacD, probably a little too much, but we usually avoid this one as the food is invariably lukewarm or cold and the service very slow. There seem to be new faces every time we let’s try it.

“The food is great, but make sure you have access to a microwave wherever you eat it.”

1. Quai Saint-André, Hull

Rated the best McDonald’s in Hull with a 3 out of 5 rating from 72 reviews, the restaurant at St. Andrew’s Quay tops our list. Despite this, the branch still received poor reviews from customers.

One reviewer said: “I decided to visit the restaurant after it reopened during the coronavirus outbreak. Certainly there were security measures in place to protect against corona. However, it seems they forgot their food safety measures. I found two huge hairs in the McFlurry. Won’t be coming back!”

Another reviewer said: “Dirty, the managers are just mean and yell at the workers and literally no work gets done. Dirtiest place I’ve been in a long time.”
