Curry Up Now Accelerates California Expansion With Second Sacramento Lease SigningSacramento, California ( Curry Up now, the nation’s largest and fastest growing casual fast food concept in India known for its innovative approach to Indian cuisine, has signed a lease for its second location in the Sacramento, California area. Partner franchise group, GKDHG, Inc., identified the ideal site for the second location of a multi-unit franchise agreement signed in 2018.

“We were immediately drawn to the tasty and accessible Indian cuisine of Curry Up Now and knew the concept would be well received by the Sacramento community,” said franchisee David Leuterio of the Sacramento franchise group. “The adaptability of the Curry Up Now concept helped us identify our second location in Sacramento while continuing to thrive on our first location. “

“I’ve always been drawn to Sacramento,” said Akash Kapoor, Founder, CEO and Chief Troublemaker for Curry Up Now. “We opened our first uptown location just weeks before the pandemic hit and we were able to hold on there. Now, with people coming back to work, we’re even more optimistic about the Sacramento market, and Elk Grove is an amazing second place. I am delighted that we are serving some of our signature cocktails here from our Mortar & Pestle bar, all without the need for a bartender or a full bar setup.

The new storefront is located at 7470 Elk Grove Blvd. in the Ridge Mall in Elk Grove, California. The 382,000 square foot shopping center includes retail and food services and is anchored by a Costco store. The opening of the new restaurant is scheduled for summer 2022.

Curry Up Now recently celebrated its 12th anniversary in September after launching as a popular Bay Area food truck in 2009 and opened its first physical location two years later in San Mateo, California. Husband and wife co-founders Akash and Rana Kapoor have now expanded their empire to include multiple food trucks, 19 restaurants coast to coast, and several nationwide digital kitchen outposts. The successful establishment is known for its unique take on traditional Indian cuisine – from Tikka Masala burritos, sexy fries, naughty naans to deconstructed samosas. Traditional favorites include Thali platters, Kathi Rolls, and Indian Street Foods which create the perfect spread for the whole family.

Curry Up Now has just opened two new restaurants in the Bay Area, one at Stanford University and the other at the City Center in San Ramon, California. The downtown location includes the brand’s popular bar, Mortar & Pestle.

The ingredients in Curry Up Now are clean and sourced from local suppliers where possible. The menu is designed to support vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal diets to satisfy all guests, regardless of their dietary preferences. The vivid colors and design aesthetic of the restaurant chain appropriately match the bold and authentic flavors of Indian cuisine.

As the chain continues to expand into major markets nationwide, Curry Up Now is seeking experienced multi-unit foodservice operators through its franchise development partner. Fransmart. The artisanal cocktail bar Pestle mortar is also now available as a sister brand for interested franchisees.

“Curry Up Now continues to experience explosive growth this year thanks to the flexibility and uniqueness of its concept,” said Dan Rowe, CEO of Fransmart. “Its adaptable operating and business model coupled with the involvement and guidance provided by the franchisor make it an excellent investment for franchisees.
