Home of “The Better Chicken Sandwich” Seeks to Enter Market with No Less than 20 Restaurants in Denver, Colorado Springs, and Grand Junction

June 18, 2021 // Franchising.com // WICHITA, Kansas – Chick N Max – a fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in chef-prepared sandwiches, almond wood smoked chicken and wings, and golden fried fillets – sees Colorado as one of its main states of expansion outside of the Midwest. The Wichita-based franchise plans to open up to 20 restaurants across the state over the next five years, particularly in Denver, Colorado Springs and Grand Junction.

The company plans to open 10 to 15 of these restaurants in the Denver metro, three units in Colorado Springs, and 1 to 2 locations in Grand Junction. Each restaurant will include indoor and outdoor seating for approximately 100 patrons and employ 25-30 people.

“We are constantly being asked, ‘When are you coming to our state? ”Said Max Sheets, founder of Chick N Max. “The demand is obviously everywhere, but we are very careful to develop ourselves strategically. At this time, we are looking for qualified candidates across Colorado and a few other states. There is no limit to how far we can go.

A veteran of the restaurant industry for nearly 30 years, Sheets was upstairs at Ted’s Montana Grill when Ted Turner and George McKerrow launched the best burgers segment. This ultimately led him to the formation of Chick N Max, and what he calls the home of “The Better Chicken Sandwich”.

Today, it’s in the sandwiches prepared by the chef of Chick N Max, made with almond-wood smoked pulled chicken or golden fried fillets, that the emerging chain extends its culinary muscle. Examples of exclusive sandwiches include maple bacon, or shredded smoked chicken, chopped bacon, a drizzle of maple syrup, cheddar cheese and mayonnaise on a potato bun; and Sweet & Spicy, which includes breaded and fried chicken fillets, strips of fried jalapeño pepper, cucumber, tomato, and a sweet and spicy sauce on a brioche bun.

“Our menu features America’s hottest dishes – chicken sandwiches – and takes them to the next level with unique flavors and toppings,” Sheets said.

Chick N Max also serves almond wood smoked chicken in the form of wings, thigh quarters, breast quarters and half chicken. Other offerings include chicken and waffles, popcorn chicken, and sides like fries, onion rings, and smoked white beans.

Customers can complement their meal with a range of 10 house sides and 11 sauces prepared daily to ensure the highest quality and best taste.
