T'was The Night Before Surgery... T'was the night before surgery and all through our house The three cats were all stirring, playing with a stupid gray mouse. I lit a bunch of candles to relax the tension in the air. While Shireen came over with Blue Ribbon chicken and mashed potatoes for fare. Mikey Dee got so excited for the food in his hand He knocked over a good luck card from a very good friend. The card ignited on fire from the candles on the table I stuttered "Mikey... mmm...mikey!!" which was all I was able. "Fire!" I finally screamed, Mikey knocked the card to the floor Set the rug on fire and singed one cat even more. Lexington ran and bolted from the flames But not without losing her eyebrow and some of her mane. Mikey stomped on the rug, I ran for some water. Shireen passed out from giggles of laughter. The flames settled down, thus Mikey could eat, And he stuffed his face full of his barbecued treat. We kept the card, it adorns Mikey's wall. It reminds us of the Blue Ribbon and the fun of it all.   Mikey come back, so we can play some more and laugh and joke like we used to and damn it, make me breakfast.
