Hi Mikey,
In September 1995 I had a brain stem stroke leaving me with
locked in syndrome, only my eye lids would move, but I refused to except
the consensus of opinion that I was going to be like this for ever and
worked at my mind and tried to move any part of my body. I would say to
myself 'I'm shrugging my shoulders' and would try to do just that for 5 to
10 minutes then would try another part. When I was laid on my side my
knees would be bent and I would try to straighten them, finally one day a
little sign and I kept trying and trying. After several months I was
rewarded with a big toe wiggle and now five years on am able to do most
things around the house, still not able to walk with out the aid of a
frame but who knows, one day maybe. I believe that nothing is
impossible Mikey and it seems that you are a go getter as well, keep up
the good work and you will be rewarded 100%.
